Diploma for William Lindsay Taylor (1875)
JOHN's eldest son, Will, had begun his formal education years earlier at a Hawesville, KY, school and later continued his studies at the District 16 Taylor schoolhouse in Sheridan township of Pawnee county, NE. More classes at Table Rock and at Pawnee City enabled Will Taylor to graduate from Pawnee Academy. In 1875, the 24-year-old bachelor chose an occupation for himself that he had learned outside the classroom, the business of farming his own acreage. Will would engage in agriculture through the next four years.
