The 1885 census for Cass county, Nebraska Enumeration District 117, page 18, lines 42-47 (Fourth Ward-Plattsmouth) has a family business as their occupation. This occupation was prominent in the US at this time..practiced often..and for a very specific reason. It provided what was considered a very necessary service. The question is "What was the necessary service that this family oriented business provided?"
