There have been many grants and aids in the history of Nebraska. One of them was the Kincaid Grant. What did the Kincaid Grant consist of? And for extra trivia points, who was Kincaid?
Point here for
Denny Norvell's
answer --->
The Homestead Act of 1862 granted settlers 160 acres if they would live on the land for five years and make improvements. The Kincaid Act increased the amount of land to 640 acres as an inducement for settlement of the western part of Nebraska. Not sure about the date but I believe it was passed in the 1880's. Kincaid was the name of the sponsoring senator.
