I am researching the MENEHAN surname which also appears in Pawnee County, NE and Marshall County, KS records as MINNAHAN, MINAHAN, MENIHAN, MINNEGHAN, MINEHAN, and MENEHAN. My wife Judy's GGrandparents, Michael and Mary Menehan migrated from Bellmullet, Mayo County, Ireland in 1858. They moved from PA to NE sometime after 1865 settling in the County on land just adjacent to the Kansas line near the town of Summerfield, KS. They had a total of 10 children, 3 dying in infancy and only 3 that I have found who married, Thomas C. (Judy's Grandfather), Mariah (Marie) who married a Shaughnessy, and Anna who married a Grubb. I have complete records on Thomas C. descendants, but I am looking for more info on the other Menehan's who lived in Pawnee County during the late 1800's. Some of the "heads of Families" that appear in the census records are: William, John, & Patrick...who I believe to be related since they appear in Census as neighbors, in St. Bridget parish records, and all with roots in Ireland.
